Lincoln: 1 Month

We have all survived the first month! This has been an incredibly joyous and very busy month. I never knew how much my heart would grow and continue to grow as your little personality unfolds. Our home is so full of love for our two sweet boys.

It's not all dreamy and sweet, there is less sleep and a lot of juggling going on between the boys' needs.

Lincoln's 1 Month Stats:
We'll update this once we've been to the doctor this week.

Here are your one month photos. We'll be measuring how you're growing compared to your little elephant.

What you've been up to this month...

-You're eating every 1 1/2-2 hours during the day. You're quite the hungry monkey.
-You latched like a champ from the moment you were born, and I'm so proud of you!!!
-You're somewhat of a sleepy baby and in an effort to help you gain a little extra weight (at Dr. Davis' request) we've been waking you up every 3 hours at night. We're sure hoping you've gained ample weight and can stop doing this after your appointment this week!
-Just like big brother (and maybe all babies), you HATE having your diaper or clothes changed.
-You are such a snuggle bug! We can't hold you all day long, but sometimes it feels that way.
-Dax picked out the red dog WubbaNub for you before you were born, and it's definitely a favorite! Now if you could just learn to keep that paci in your mouth.
-Your first sweet grins are making their way to your little face. They seem to be shifting from gas induced to just pure cuteness!
-You love to be wrapped or worn in a ring sling. All that wonderful sleepy dust works on you when you're snuggled next to mommy!
-We've enjoyed several playdates with cousins and friends, outings to Target and church, and 2 photo shoots in just 1 very fast month!

Here are a few more pictures from all our fun as a family of 4:

We love you so much, Bug, and can't wait to watch your little life blossom!

Bumpdate: 34 & 35 Weeks

Posting two weeks at a time again. It's saying something that I actually take these pictures, so I'm not going to feel bad about not finding time. Shedding all mama guilt with baby #2.

Josh is trying to push through a really tough summer session, and frankly, I cannot wait for him to be done with it! Just another week! We are making it by on as few cooked meals and as much time outside as possible to pass the evenings without daddy around!

I was 34 weeks on 7/28 and 35 weeks today! I had another appointment with our midwife yesterday. We're almost in weekly appointment territory. Everything looks great -Lincoln has a healthy heartbeat, very swift kick and his head is down. Just praying he stays in a good anterior position. After Dayton shifted to a posterior position during labor, I'm paranoid! You'll find me trying every trick in the book to prevent that from happening again. We'll see if any of it works.

Bumpdate: 33 Weeks

I was 33 weeks on Tuesday!

It's practically impossible to maintain personal space with a two year old around which means you catch the cold they had! I spent two days recovering, but the rest was actually really good for me.

We're so excited to have two little boys in our house, and it's getting more and more real every day! We're not ready for you, sweet boy, but we'll be ready whenever you arrive! Does that even make sense? Thankfully, a good friend told me you're just never as prepared for baby #2 as your were with #1. I'm holding onto the fact that it's true and okay.

Bumpdate: 31 and 32 Weeks

I may be posting late, but at least I took the pictures on the right days. That's something.

I was 31 weeks on July 6th and 32 weeks today. I'm still feeling great! I have ad a few restless nights with our little acrobat, but nothing major. I can also still wear my wedding ring which I could not at this point with Dax! On top of that, I'm pregnant during the summer so I totally didn't expect to be less swollen.

Bumpdate: 30 Weeks

It feels like we've hit a new milestone -less than 10 weeks until Baby Lincoln's due date! I went back for the dreaded 3-hour glucose test this week and passed with flying colors. No gestational diabetes in this house! Woot woot! I've been sorting through some of Dax's baby clothes (trying to not tear up at how tiny he once was) and new clothes we've been given or purchased. I just can't wait to see our little munchkin!

Bumpdate: 28 Weeks

I had a fantastic time in Spain, but am so happy to be home! I'm pretty sure this baby grew a ton while I was gone. The jury is out on whether that is because he's really growing or because I ate my way through Spain. Either way, this bump sure is getting bigger!

Bumpdate: 26 Weeks

This is a very fun post for me to write as we finally have a baby name! We want our children to have strong and somewhat unique names. With Dayton, it was easy. We had the name before we knew he was a boy. This time around there was a lot more debate.

Sweet Lincoln Augustus will be joining our family in September! Augustus was my great-grandfather's middle name on my mom's side. I love passing down my wonderful heritage to a new generation. We're excited for this lil' guy to take further shape in our minds as we anticipate his arrival.

Bumpdate: 25 Weeks

We missed 24 weeks. I cannot even remember why at this point, but I am catching up!

Josh gave me the most wonderful surprise over Memorial Day Weekend -a combined birthday / babymoon trip to New York City! He also surprised me with having 2 of my best friends join us...more on all of that in a later post.

I was 25 weeks on May 26th. We've just been enjoying this growing bump and our last days as a family of three!

Bumpdate: 23 Weeks

We've hit 23 weeks and have narrowed this boy's name down to 3 final options. I really want to monogram everything I can get my hands on, so the sooner we pick a name the faster I can start. Maybe that's why Josh isn't in a hurry to decide?!? No matter what name we decide on, we can't wait to meet our sweet boy!

Bumpdate: 22 Weeks

I was 22 weeks on Tuesday. We're starting to put together Dax's "big boy" room and hope to have him sleeping in it by the end of June -all in preparation for Baby Boy 2! This summer is sure to fly by in record time, and we just cannot wait for September!

Bumpdate: 21 Weeks

I was 21 weeks on Tuesday and am still feeling great!

We are having so much fun chatting with Dax about his new baby brother! He wants to go through all the family members and tell us if they're a boy or girl. Nana and Daddy have been girls a few times now! He is a budding conversationalist with lots of baby/belly questions or comments -especially since his new baby cousin Fletcher arrived on Saturday. He's going to be the best big brother!

Bumpdate: 20 Weeks

We're there! We've made it halfway! It's been a tough couple of weeks. Dax had his first round of pink eye plus a double ear infection. Then we've all 3 been fighting colds. Josh was the last to get hit, and he's now trying to get well as finals start! I skipped taking my 19 week picture -I just wasn't anything to look at last week! Lol.

Bumpdate: 18 Weeks

I was 18 weeks on the 7th. It's hard to believe we're almost halfway there! Happy, healthy and constantly chasing a sweet toddler.

Bumpdate: 17 Weeks

Being pregnant the second time around is quite different! I started wearing maternity clothes much sooner and boy how the body knows where to go! I'm loving pregnancy just as much though and have not been sick at all. Praise the Lord!

We scheduled our ultrasound for next Friday! This is most exciting news! We will likely find out baby's gender, and I can start planning -as though I haven't already.

Dax's To Do List

It's been too long since we posted. We'll see if my grand plan to catch back up ever actually happens! That being said, our little family blog will be picking up speed again in the very near future.

Dax has a very important "To Do List" to share with everyone!

Dax has been checking off his to do list and his latest check is just so exciting!

We are so thrilled to be adding some crazy to our little party! Stephanie is due in early September and feeling great.

We attempted an earlier photo session with D last week. We would title this, "I don't wanna be a super big brother!"

Lots of love,

Josh, Stephanie & Dax

Dayton: 11 Months

We were traveling over your 11 month birthday, so this is a little late! We've had a very, very busy month! Wow, your daddy and I just cannot believe how big you are getting. Every day we look at each other and say, "Where did this big boy come from?"

We think you weigh about 22 lbs and will see how much you've grown just after your 1st birthday when we visit Dr. Davis.

How cute are you this month (and every month!)?

Here's what you've been up to this month:

-You used a spoon for the first time on January 30th and are a huge fan. We still do lots of finger foods, but you love to try your best to get food in your mouth with a spoon!
-You have started throwing a ball. This is one of mommy's favorite things to do with you. You have a soft soccer ball you love to throw!
-You have now signed please! It can take a lot of convincing from mommy.
-We noticed that you clapped your hands on February 8th! You were so proud of yourself. Now you're clapping all the time. You've even started clapping at the right moment during your beloved Baby Einstein videos.
-Grandpa Bills taught you how to "ah-choo!" You have the cutest little fake sneeze, complete with you throwing your head back!
-You have started using your new push toy! You can walk behind it on the rug, but on the hardwood it moves too quick and you crawl behind it.
-You are so, so ticklish. Daddy doesn't even have to be tickling you, just wiggling his fingers makes you go into a riot!

Here are more pictures of your sweetness this month!

Daddy and I are so excited to celebrate your 1st birthday in a few weeks. We are incredibly blessed to have you as a part of our family. God knew what he was doing!!!

Dayton: 10 Months

BUSY. This is the best way to describe our month with you, Dayton. We are chasing your sweet busyness all over the house.

We think you're right at 20 lbs, but I thought that at 8 months and you only weighed 19 at your 9 month appointment. I'm clearly not good at guessing.

Your 10 month photo shoot was almost hard to capture because you're so active and full of life!

Here's what you've been up to this month:

-First real cold and first sick visit at the pediatrician -of course they go hand in hand. The congestion will not go away.
-You started crawling forward on January 9th and are so crazy proud of yourself. The whole house is now fair game!
-Your Grammie & Grandpa Al were over for a quick hello on January 19th, and you waved goodbye to them. They were so excited and so were we!
-You spent every weekday for a week and a half at the Congdon's house while Nana Jan was visiting family in Virginia. You were so good! I think Miss Jenn and her kids were ready to keep you! It sure warmed your mama's heart that you played so well and were such a good boy. We were blessed to have their help!

Here are a few more pictures of your fun month!

{Sweetest little sleeper -ever!}

{More exploring of course}

We are so thankful you are growing and developing into such a personality filled little bear. Mama & Daddy love you, buns!!!
