34 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 34 weeks (2/21/2013)

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a large cantaloupe (19 - 22 in, 5.5 lbs)

Maternity Clothes: I really thought I would make it through my pregnancy with all my maternity clothes fitting. In my mind, my 7 month size was as big as I would get. Ha! What was I thinking??? I picked up a 2nd pair of jeans (shown above) that are a little roomier than the pair of skinny jeans I had originally purchased. While the original pair still fits, I can't keep the material up and over my belly. In addition, I got 2 tanks from Gap that I wished I had purchased long before now! They are smoothing and hide any bumps (other than the main bump)!

Stretch Marks: We're still in the same place. Nothing more and nothing worse, but they're still there!

Belly Button In or Out: Completely flat!

Best Moment of the Week: Finishing the bedding for Dayton's crib was a huge accomplishment! There aren't plans for him sleeping in the crib immediately, but just having that done gave me the confidence that we could get all of the things on my to-do list accomplished before he arrives!

Movement: There is a foot permanently planted under my right rib cage. He's definitely head down. I really think he's poking at my bladder on purpose!

Food Cravings: I had a hankering for a big juicy burger. It was the oddest thing. I don't EVER crave a burger and could get buy with 1 or 2 a year and be just fine. Josh fulfilled my wish and we headed to Bill Gray's (a local burger joint by the lake). Not only did I polish off my cheeseburger, but ate part of Josh's hot dog and then we had custard. I haven't been that hungry since the early days of pregnancy!

Gender: Little boy clothes, toys and linens are starting to pile up around here! I'm loving every single minute of it. While we plan to use cloth diapers eventually, we'll be using disposable until Dayton fits into a standard cloth diaper. The Honest Company has the CUTEST patterns for their diapers. I love their eco-friendliness and also love that they arrive right at our door! Check out these great patterns.

What I miss: Breathing! I swear in the last 2 weeks I have so little room to breathe! I know it's all part of the package, but I still feel like I'm short of breath. He's taking up so much space these days.

What I'm looking forward to: We just can't wait to meet our little peanut!!!! He's going to be here before we know it. Until then, I'll be scurrying around trying to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect!

Symptoms: Swollen feet and fingers. I've been wearing my wedding rings around my neck for a couple weeks now, but I'm officially in a new sector of swelling. I can't ever get my rings on and my feet are like sausages by the end of the day. I keep being told to put my feet up, but I can't for the life of me understand how a full-time working mom-to-be has any time to prop her feet up...except when she escapes to write a blog post every once in awhile. I'm trying to make it a priority, but I just really haven't had time.

Emotions: I'm just as emotional as usual. In addition, I've been a little on the cranky side and quick to snap at someone. I'm sure it's really becoming and have to watch myself at the office!

Prayer (we are praying a whole hosts of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one each week from our list): "We pray that you govern every aspect of Dayton's delivery -giving wisdom to the staff in charge of our care and to the the decisions we make along the way."

26 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 26 weeks (12/26/2012)

Weight Gain: In an effort to not stress over my weight, I'm removing this line from my bumpdates. :) At the advise of a good friend, let the doctor tell you when you're gaining too much and enjoy being pregnant. I promise I'm not eating whole pizzas, cartons of ice cream or anything like that!

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a cucumber (15 in & 2.2 lbs) Note: the length is now being measured from head-to-toe instead of head-to-rump as in past weeks.

Maternity Clothes: I picked up a few more maternity pieces while in Oklahoma thanks to a Pea in the Pod gift card and great after-Christmas sales! I went ahead and picked up a nursing tank. It's long enough to keep my bump well covered and can be used after Dayton arrives. I also got an orange colorblock sweater and striped knit dress, but couldn't find pictures of those. I'm sure they'll surface in a bumpdate picture soon.

Stretch Mark: The 3 little stretch marks haven't ventured out anymore!

Belly Button In or Out: Still in, but getting really flat!

Sleep: So blessed to still be sleeping without any issues!

Best Moment of the Week: We ordered Dayton's crib! I can't wait for it to arrive!

Movement: Josh got felt a huge kick that kind of freaked him out a little. I told him this was like an alien invasion, now he believes me!

Food Cravings: No major cravings, just yummy holiday foods to satisfy the sweet tooth!

Gender: We think the room color is picked out. We picked up a sample to try out on the wall. Hopefully, we'll have a chance to get that on the walls and make sure we really like it. For your viewing pleasure...here's the color.

Sherwin Williams Melange Green (SW6710)

What I miss: I haven't stopped missing the whole sleeping on my tummy thing, but am still sleeping...so I won't complain.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the nursery ready!

Symptoms: After 2 days of travel to Oklahoma and a rare sighting of me in heels the following day, I had swollen feet. I promptly laid on the couch with them propped well above my heart! Thankfully, the swelling hasn't really returned. I dread the idea of my feet looking like sausages for a lengthy period of time!

Emotions: If you tuned in to my 25 Week Bumpdate, you know my sweet husband bought me LOTS of tissue for our trip out west in case it didn't go as I had planned in my head. We are on the other side of that trip, and I can proudly say I only used 1 of the 9 tissue packs he purchased!

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): In the case of an emergency, any drug or injection I will be given during this pregnancy we cover with the blood of Jesus.

25 Week Bumpdate

We're in Oklahoma for Christmas!!!!! I couldn't be a happier girl -I evaded the Rochester snow! And while we're missing our New York friends and family, we're so thankful to be with my family this year!

I missed last week's post and didn't even manage to snap a picture. We were running around like chickens with our heads cut off getting ready to leave town, finishing up things at work and celebrating our own little Christmas. I can never understand how I do such a fabulous job at making this season stressful, so it's nice to now be relaxing in Oklahoma with NO schedule or agenda! Maybe a little shopping!

How far along: 25 weeks (12/20/2012)

Weight Gain: 12.5 lbs total

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of an eggplant (9.2 in & 2 lbs)

Maternity Clothes: I snagged a $5.99 non-maternity shirt from Ross (oh how I miss ghetto Ross when I'm in NY) in the picture above. I love deals like this because I don’t feel bad stretching them out with my growing belly! I also finally replaced my black leggings with maternity ones from Target. They’re so comfortable you don’t even realize you’re wearing them. LOVE!

Stretch Mark: I have 3 little lines on my tummy that look they will be stretch marks. BOO! You’d better believe I am slathering them with as much lotion and shea butter that I can!!!

Belly Button In or Out: Still in, but stretching out!

Sleep: So blessed to still be sleeping without any issues!

Best Moment of the Week: Being in Oklahoma to celebrate Christmas and seeing lots of friends!

Movement: Still lots of kicking. I can now tell the difference between what feels like a sharp elbow and his bum.

Food Cravings: Lots of holiday snacking going on!

Gender: It’s a boy! The crib is about to be ordered and hopefully we’ll have the room color picked out by the end of our vacation.

What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy!

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the nursery ready!

Symptoms: Still clumsy as can be. The 2 days of travel and then wearing high heels on Sunday produced my first sign of swelling. I very quickly propped my feet up! Thankfully, the swelling went down quickly and hasn’t really returned. Whew. Bullet dodged...for now!

Emotions: The hectic week before Christmas was enough for my husband to purchase a multipack of travel tissues in case making our way to Oklahoma was unpredictable.

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): We pray that the hand of God would root out of Baby Dayton the wrong spirit of disobedience, rebellion, hatred for the gospel and develop within him a right spirit.

Merry Christmas!

22 Week Bumpdate

I'm starting to catch up with these bumpdates! I will be 23 weeks on Thursday, so this one is still a little late. :)

How far along: 22 weeks (11/29/2012)

Weight Gain: 10 lbs total

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a papaya (8 in & 1.2 lbs)

Maternity Clothes: There was a lot of chaos and poor customer service from A Pea in the Pod, but my coat FINALLY arrived. It's beautiful, and it fits! I'm so thankful to have a warm and stylish coat this winter!

Stretch Mark: Still no stretch marks! PTL!!!

Belly Button In or Out: Still in there, but stretching out!

Sleep: So blessed to still be sleeping without any issues!

Best Moment of the Week: I really think the best thing this week was just realizing how big Dayton is getting and how quickly he will arrive. I can't believe he will be here in about 18 weeks.

Movement: Lots of movement and flip flopping in there! Thankfully, his movements are only in my waking hours.

Food Cravings: Starving all the time!

Gender: It's a boy! I love planning cute ideas for Dayton's nursery and scouring Etsy for fun boy things. It's definitely harder than finding cute girl things!

What I miss: Just the occasional glass of wine. Worth the wait though!

What I'm looking forward to: This is not totally related to pregnancy, but I'm so looking forward to being at home in Oklahoma for Christmas. The countdown is on! I can't wait to see family and friends who won't get to see me again while pregnant.

Symptoms: Clumsiness still reigns, but it is being coupled with a quickly growing belly. Such a dangerous combination! My mascara wand made it's way out of my hand and hit my belly on the way down. Sigh.

Emotions: Just sentimental over everything. I think it's half pregnancy / half Christmas.

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

21 Week Bumpdate

Things have been crazy, so I am just now posting my 21 week bumpdate (more than a week late). I took the picture on time, but between Thanksgiving and celebrating Christmas with much of Josh's family that same weekend I couldn't get it done.

How far along: 21 weeks (11/22/2012)

Weight Gain: 8.5 lbs total

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a spaghetti squash (8 in & 1 lb).

Maternity Clothes: I ordered the following items from Gap with Black Friday savings!!! Here are the pieces I got. I think I'll be able to easily work them into my current wardrobe.

Henley Tunic in Vamp Red -I really like that this tunic has a little gathering that will stretch as my belly grows!

1969 Demi Panel Always Skinny Cords in Raspberry Sorbet -These pants make me so happy. They are far more comfortable than I expected! I know they're a statement piece, but I just had to have them.

Stretch Mark: Still no stretch marks! PTL!!!

Belly Button In or Out: It's beginning to stretch out a little.

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty soundly!

Gender: It's a boy! We've been looking at a lot of nurseries and the explorer theme wins. Josh and I both totally agree on it. Now to decide on a paint color.

What I miss: Laying on my stomach!

What I'm looking forward to: I'm already thinking about the holidays with a baby. It's going to be so much fun!

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): We stand against any birth defect and claim perfection for Dayton in Jesus' name.

20 Week Bumpdate

This week's bumpdate is a few days late due to all the excitement we had.We are so pleased to announce that we are having a baby BOY!!! His name will be Dayton Xavier after Josh's grandfather and my father, respectively.

Here's a picture of Josh and me with our blue cupcake. More on that little party once we get the pictures back from our photographer. For now we'll just stick with an instagram photo.

How far along: 20 weeks (11/15/2012)

Weight Gain: 8 lbs total

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a banana (7 in & 11 oz -according to my app). The ultrasound tech thinks I'm closer to 21 weeks and that they baby is more like 14 oz.)

Maternity Clothes: The H&M Mama line is totally hit or miss. This past week it was for sure a hit! I got a cotton red dress that will be great for layering and the outfit I'm wearing in this week's photo. The price point is fabulous like the rest of H&M. I'm super excited to add these pieces to my wardrobe.

Stretch Mark: Still no stretch marks! PTL!!!

Belly Button In or Out: Still an innie....for now. (Does it ever become an outie or just disappear?)

Sleep: No major sleep issues with the body pillow. I can sleep leaning against a brick wall, so I wasn't too worried. Of course there's still another 20 weeks to go!

Best Moment of the Week: It was definitely discovering we had a healthy baby growing fast and furious and that our healthy baby is a boy! We are blessed beyond measure!

Movement: Steady movement! During our ultrasound we had a wiggly little worm on our hands. He's also stubborn and wouldn't roll over for the tech. No surprises there.

Food Cravings: No major cravings, but my appetite is increasing!

Gender: As I've said again and again in this one post...it's a BOY! We're ready to start planning the nursery!!! Here's the link to my Pinterest board for the nursery...Dayton's Quarters.

What I miss: Not a lot!

What I'm looking forward to: Planning the nursery and holding our sweet boy for the first time!

Symptoms: Clumsy and forgetfulness are both creeping in! Yikes!

Emotions: This week was pretty stable. :)

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): This prayer wasn't originally on my list, but I decided it's never too soon to start praying for our little Dayton's future wife! Whether conceived or not, she's already precious to us and we pray the Lord blesses her as she grows up to be the woman God intended for her to be!
