Dayton: Three Months

We have hit the three month growth spurt. Our skinny baby isn't so skinny anymore!

We don't head to see Dr. Davis again until 4 months, but we did our own weight check.

Approximate weight: 11.5 lbs

Here's what we've been up to this month:

-Mommy went back to work this month, so now you're spending the day with your Nana Jan! Mommy drops you off and daddy picks you up. Mommy misses you so much, but Nana Jan sends me pictures at work of all the fun you're having!
-You nurse before we leave the house and then you eat 4.5 oz of mommy's milk every two hours (5 feedings). After daddy brings you home, you nurse 2-3 more times before going to bed.
-You go to sleep between 8:00 and 8:30 pm and I have to wake you up no later than 6:30 am to get out the door on time. Sometimes you fuss for your paci around 4:30 am, but are quickly back to sleep.
-You are so close to rolling over from tummy to back! We are ready to video at all times!
-Giggles, laughter and smiles! Everything we do is funny, and you're almost ticklish!
-We introduced a rattle to you and you just love to flail your arms with it in hand.
-You are also so fond of your turtle tunes. You love to hug his neck because it's so skinny and hear all the fun notes and songs he plays.
-You helped daddy celebrate mommy's birthday, and helped mommy celebrate daddy's first father's day!
-Bath time is tearless!!! It's now a fun and relaxing time!
-Tummy time is getting better though you still have your moments. You love to look in the mirror, make faces and talk to yourself. Who is that person in the mirror?
-We are almost strictly using cloth diapers at home now. We love how soft and comfy they are, and they're pretty cute on your buns, too! Our choice for cloth diapers are the bumGenius Freetime All-in-Ones. Maintenance has been pretty easy, especially now that we have a diaper spray for those dirty (aka: not wet) ones.
-You became a big cousin twice this month! Once on May 30th when baby Jackson was born (daddy's side), then again on June 21 when baby Connor was born (mommy's side). It will be so fun for you to have two cousins your age!

Here are a few more pictures from this month (some of these are duplicates of from previous posts):

My 30th.

Josh did a wonderful job of getting all our friends together to celebrate my 30th birthday! As with most people, I was hesitant to head into this new decade. My 20's were SOO good to me! They brought me so many wonderful things: graduated college, got my first, second, third and fourth jobs -all stretching and growing me, met my love, got engaged, moved to New York, bought a house, got married and most recently, had a sweet baby boy! How can another decade be better than all that? I'm so excited to see what the Lord has in store!

Josh surprised me with a quick trip to Naples for dinner and ice cream on my actual birthday. We are so blessed to have fabulous grandparent babysitters!

On Saturday after my birthday, Josh threw a little party. Several friends came over to help us celebrate. We made ribs and BBQ chicken, friends brought lots of side dishes to share.

Jack is Born!

Our sweet nephew, Jackson Michael (Baby Jack), was born on May 30, 2013. He's exactly 2 months younger than Dayton and they're already best friends -you'll see in the pictures below. This is the first cousin Dayton has on Josh's side of the family. We love him to pieces and can't wait to watch the boys grow up together!

{Aunties so excited to find out if Baby Cortina is a boy or girl -we were guessing girl}

{Uncle Josh & Baby Jack -he's pretty comfortable with this baby thing now that he has his own}

{Uncle Josh, Baby Jack and Tim -forever friend, roommates, brothers-in-law and now proud uncle and daddy to Baby Jack}

We had to go back the next day and see him again! Mama Katie was looking so fabulous.

Mother's Day and Father's Day

Both May and June provided firsts for Josh and me. Mother's Day and Father's Day were special days we loved celebrating this year. Josh is the best daddy Dayton could have! Of course he spoiled me with a charm necklace from Stella and Dot for Mother's Day.

{Josh with his mom and sister the Friday before Mother's Day}

We headed out to Rochester's Lilac Festival for Mother's Day. It was almost too cold, but we hid the baby away in his stroller and braved the weather to see the beautiful blooms.

 {Josh with a baby inside that stroller -promise he's in there}

Dayton and I worked on a special project for Josh. We had a little photo shoot and put together pictures for Daddy's desk at work. Here are the 3 pictures we chose for the frame (it was one of those hinged frames).

We are so blessed! The only thing that would have made it better would be seeing Nana and Pa in Oklahoma!
