17 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 17 weeks (10/25/2012)

Weight Gain: 3 lbs total

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a sweet potato (5.5 in & 5 oz)

Maternity Clothes: I’m still wearing almost all pre-maternity clothes, but I did try out the long sleeve tee shown in this picture –thanks to my sweet mom for picking up a few things and mailing them to me. We don’t have Gap Maternity here…heartbreak.

Stretch Mark: Still no stretch marks! Holding out for none!

Belly Button In or Out: Still an innie.

Sleep: No major issues sleeping! Thankful for all the rest I’ve been getting in spite of work travel and a crazy schedule.

Best Moment of the Week: Realizing this baby has completely invaded my body and officially made me overly emotional. It’s a happy invasion! :)

Movement: Still having movement mostly in the morning. It’s such a fun stage!

Food Cravings: My juice craving is still going strong. I’m also craving Mexican food from home (aka…Oklahoma)! I guess I do crave that even when not prego.

Gender: Less than 3 weeks and we find out!!!!!!!

What I miss: Loving this whole experience…nothing major.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting to see Peanut on the big screen in a few weeks!

Symptoms: Growing belly and an increasing appetite.

Emotions: I have a saint of a husband. I worked 50+ hours this week, traveled to Maine for work for a quick 9 hours on the ground, dropped and broke my iPhone, drove to Buffalo for a new one the same day we hosted 12 friends for a murder mystery dinner. The toll all that takes on a pregnant woman emotionally is enough to drive a man mad. I’m so blessed that Josh is always calm and patient. It’s a great counter balance to me (pregnant or not).

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

16 Week Bumpdate

This was another fast week, and I just can't believe I am 4 months pregnant! We're trying to savor it all and just enjoy lots of date nights before our Peanut arrives.

How far along: 16 weeks (10/18/2012)

Weight Gain: Gained another pound. Two total.

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a turnip (5 in & 5 oz)

Maternity Clothes: I’m still wearing almost all pre-maternity clothes. I’m really thankful for great fall dresses to carry me through for a while!

Stretch Mark: Still no stretch marks! Let's see how long we can keep this up!

Belly Button In or Out: Still in and hoping it stays that way for a while!

Sleep: I’m still sleeping well (besides a now nightly trip to the bathroom) and getting plenty of it!

Best Moment of the Week: No major milestones this week, but I am having so much fun planning this little peanut's gender reveal party! There are lots of people on both sides of the “to find out” or “not to find out” line. We are very clearly on the “to find out” side. I am looking at it like a wonderful surprise at 20 weeks and then another wonderful surprise at 40 weeks (not that this whole having a baby scenario wasn’t enough of a surprise for the year).

Here is the picture of my inspiration for the party. These sweet little fondant cupcake toppers are from BB Sweets on Etsy.

Movement: I am definitely feeling some movement! It seems to be mostly in the morning right now.

Food Cravings: Still craving juice! I’m also eating a long time favorite combo, yogurt and granola, again.

Gender: Will be revealed in less than 4 weeks! Woo hoo!!!!! This is also the countdown for my parents’ arrival!

What I miss: Loving this whole experience…nothing major.

What I'm looking forward to: Solving the gender piece of the puzzle and starting on the nursery!

Symptoms: Growing belly and an increasing appetite.

Emotions: My emotions are a little out of whack right now….just ask the husband. Thankfully, he’s the most patient person I know!

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): “We pray that the wisdom to train this child in the glory of God will fall upon us as parents.”

15 Week Bumpdate

This was such a busy week! We took this week's picture as we headed out the door to do a corn maze and then dinner with friends from our small group.

How far along: 15 weeks (10/11/2012)

Weight Gain: Gained a pound

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of an avocado (4 to 5 in & 3 to 5 oz)

Maternity Clothes: I am now wearing the Boden Maternity Jeans I talked about last week. They have elastic bands with buttons so you can cinch them in and then release them as my belly expands. It’s kind of like what you see in little kid pants. Ha! I didn’t know they were there when I bought them, but it’s really awesome and making the transition easier.

Stretch Mark: None so far! I'm subscribing to the recommended daily application of Burt's Bees - Mama Bee Belly Butter.

Belly Button In or Out: Still in and hoping it stays that way for a while!

Sleep: Still getting lots of sleep with many nights starting just after 9:00. That’s huge for this night owl!

Best Moment of the Week: We got to hear our little Peanut’s heartbeat! While we heard this 4 weeks ago, it was much clearer this time. The PA did have to chase the little fish all across my belly before he/she was finally still enough to hear it. The heart rate was 145. Do with that what you will. I’m trying to not let that sway my opinion of whether or not this baby is a boy or girl.

Movement: I think I felt a little flutter, but since I don’t know what I’m really looking for I’m not sure.

Food Cravings: I think the breakfast kick is over and no major cravings this week. I am definitely feeling like cooking more often now. I think that is mostly to do with my energy level.

Gender: Will be revealed 5 weeks from yesterday! Woo hoo!!!!!

What I miss: Loving this whole experience…nothing major.

What I'm looking forward to: I’m still looking forward to finding out Peanut’s gender, but I’m also dying to feel he/she move!

Symptoms: Growing belly!!!!

Emotions: The tears are still flowing this week!

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): "I charge every hand that treats me, every bed I lie on and every test conducted on me with the blood of Jesus."

14 Week Bumpdate

From now until April, I'm going to try to post weekly updates bumpdates. A modern pregnancy journal of sorts. So here it goes with the first week...

How far along: 14 weeks (10/4/2012)

Weight Gain: Lost a pound

Produce Aisle: Approximately the size of a lemon (3 in & 1.5 oz)

Maternity Clothes: I bought skinny jeans from Boden and black skinny pants from Gap. Here are pics of both.

While I'm not wearing either pair (just keeping them in my back pocket for when I pop), I do think I might like the ultimate panel that will go under the belly. We'll see though! Both are super cute and make me fell less stressed about waking up one day with a belly!

Stretch Mark: None so far! I'm subscribing to the recommended daily application of Burt's Bees - Mama Bee Belly Butter

Belly Button In or Out: In, let's hope it stays that way for awhile!

Sleep: Up until now that's ALL I've been doing!

Best Moment of the Week: I'm starting to plan our gender reveal party! We cannot wait to find out if Peanut is a boy or girl. We're also so thankful my parents will be here from Oklahoma that week!

Movement: None yet.

Food Cravings: Grapefruit juice, eggs and bacon. Basically, anything breakfast related!

Gender: Will be revealed 6 weeks from yesterday!

What I miss: Not a whole lot, just caffeine and the occasional adult bevy.

What I'm looking forward to: Obviously, finding out if Peanut is a boy or girl. I am also kind of looking forward to actually looking prego, rather than just looking like I ate too much.

Symptoms: I've been experiencing what I like to call: Death by Exhaustion. Thankfully, my deep need for sleep is waining. I also am so blessed to not really have been sick.

Emotions: I tend to think I'm not really any more emotional than normal...then I watch a TV show like Parenthood or even a comedy like New Girl (when she loses her job) and the tears just start flowing. The Google Hangout commercials are also total tearjerkers!

Prayer (we are praying a whole host of things, including scripture, over this pregnancy and our Peanut every day -I thought I would share one from our list each week): "As we remember many who are still waiting on you for a child, Father, we thank you for this incredible gift of life."
